Job Description:

The Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton branches of RBC Dominion Securities are currently seeking a Certified Financial Planner to provide financial planning and other wealth management strategies to new and existing clients. The successful candidate will work with the Investment Advisors to provide a high level of service and expertise to their clients. The candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and well versed in Financial Planning software and strategies and have at least 2 – 4 years related experience. Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.

This role will require about 40% travel, comprised of 3 days per week spent at the Saint John location, and 1 day per week at both the Moncton and Fredericton DS locations.

Requirements:

  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory.  Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.
  • Ongoing knowledge of current market activity
  • Ability to successfully multi-task
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong financial planning skills including experience preparing financial plans for clients using Horizons and Compass software, NaviPlan and Insync.
  • Ability to consolidate assets and uncover other growth opportunities.
  • Organizational and Time Management to meet deadlines of meetings and presentations.
  • Previous experience in Financial Planning/Advice roles would be an asset.

Minimum Accreditations: CSC, CPH, PFP. FMA or CFP are also required.

Preferred Accreditations: LLQP (must be completed within a reasonable timeframe upon hire)

Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Financial Planning
    • Co-ordinate with the Investment Advisor to schedule financial planning meetings and reviews with existing clients.
    • Meet with new and existing clients to collect personal financial data.
    • Prepare and present financial plans to clients.
    • Identify opportunities to consolidate additional client assets and for other products and services (i.e. will and estate planning, insurance).
  2. Insurance
    • Identify opportunities to protect and enhance clients wealth
    • Organize and assist in meetings with insurance specialists
    • Maintain current information and client files
  3. Client Service
    • Provide a high level of client service and expertise
    • Follow up with clients regarding various planning strategies
    • Ensure that Financial Plans are presented in a professional and timely fashion.

Education:   High School Diploma / GED
Accreditations:   CSC/CPH/PFP/FMA/CFP/LLQP
