We are seeking applicants for temporary part-time or full-time staffing vacancies which may arise due to sick leave replacement, short term staffing needs, etc. Candidates must be available for work on short notice for day time and/or evening work.
Duties: The primary assignment of the successful candidate will be to instruct learners, facilitate learning and evaluate learner progress in the Petroleum Engineering Technology Program at Ridge Road Campus; to plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources in the classroom; and to provide academic advice to learners and other duties consistent with maintaining quality learner-centered instruction.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess extensive knowledge of the subject and current teaching/learning methods; strong oral and written communication skills; analytical and organizational abilities; as well as the ability to work effectively as a team member. Candidates must have strong commitments to a learner-centered approach to teaching and to learner success strategies. The required knowledge and skills would normally have been acquired through the completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum or Mechanical) with specialization in area of instruction, or a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology and recent relevant industry experience. A Bachelor of Education (Secondary/Post Secondary), Bachelor of Technology, and/or eligibility for membership in an appropriate professional association would be considered definite assets.
Salary: As per College of the North Atlantic Faculty Collective Agreement.
