Electrical Designers

We are currently seeking a high caliber Electrical Designer to work on a contract basis. Based in Saint John, New Brunswick, you will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical sector.

Job Description:
The Electrical Design Team works closely with the Electrical Task Force Engineers and provides detailed design necessary to locate, install and interconnect a wide variety of electrical equipment and components involved in today's complex process plants.

Designers are involved in the preparation of drawings including electrical area classification, one line and three line diagrams, substation and M.C.C. room layouts, lighting layouts, cable tray and conduit layouts, instrument wiring, elementaries and interconnections, electric heat tracing and all material take-off.

Opportunities are provided for electrical designers to become familiar with, and to become competent in dealings with, complex electrical systems and controls for large motors, generators, switchgear and motor control centers.

Practical experience is gained through execution of capital project of ongoing plant operations in operating plant environment

Job Requirements:

• Electrical designers are required to have a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, as well as a good CAD drafting skills with 5 to 10 years relevant experience.
• Training in AutoCAD, Microstation 2D, 3D and Intergraph PDS is a definite asset.
• Preference will be given to those with experience in oil, gas and petrochemical facilities as well as field and operation experience.
