Project Manager

Position Description:

• Position is based in St. John’s, NL, the petroleum capital of eastern Canada
• Would require some time in the field for supervisory purposes
• 5-15 years experience, preferably in a frontier area
• Petroleum engineer with experience in well program design and drilling program implementation
• Excellent communication and data management skills 
• Work independently and manage operations and contractors in a frontier setting
• Requires extensive planning and coordination of services
• Bilingual would be an asset but is not required
• Must be eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of NL
• Looking for someone who has a lot of energy and is eager to join an emerging company

Candidate Profile:

Education:

• Degree in engineering or geosciences with background related to petroleum

Experience:

• Experience in a frontier undeveloped area 
• Proven experience developing drilling and exploration plans and programs including experience corresponding with joint venture partners and other parties
• Previous experience with regulatory processes related to oil and gas exploration onshore would be an asset
• Experience leading a team of people relating to the drilling program
• Experience working with joint venture partners
• Experience with and knowledge of Department of Natural Resources processes and regulations would be helpful
• Bilingual would be an asset but is not required

Personal Characteristics:

• Self-starter, ability to work independently with a high energy level
• Excellent communication and data management skills
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to operate in a small corporate environment
