Our Client, Irving Oil Limited, is a regional refining and marketing company serving customers in Eastern Canada and New England.  They are presently expanding their engineering capabilities, and are looking for Process Engineers with experience in the oil and gas industry.  These positions are within their Project Solutions Group, working with all levels of both the company and their strategic partners.  This is a permanent position, offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Duties:

• Identify, define, evaluate and justify projects to support both the base business and the Processing and Transportation business unit s strategic plan. 
• This is an opportunity to influence the design work for new units and revamp existing units to meet the demands of the strategic and operating plans for the Processing and Transportation business unit.
• Liaise with Technology Vendors and with our Project Solutions Alliance organization.
• Works with internal customers to assist with development of feasibility studies, and process design basis generation.
• Produce key documents for feasibility, preliminary economics, and process design basis to schedule milestones for decision-making.
• Ensures that documentation of studies, business cases and design bases are correctly archived for retrieval.
• Participate in the development of the capital budget submission items for the Processing and Transportation business unit.
• Participate in the development of the input to the Processing and Transportation business units Capital and Master Planning process.

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education - requires a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 5 -7 years engineering experience 
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer
• Refining knowledge in areas of technology, operations and technical services
• Able to clarify issues and manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Superior people skills and project management skills, able to meet deadlines
• Strategic thinker
• Occasional travel to conferences, seminars, and engineering offices may be required
