Our client, a global leader in seabed-to-surface engineering and construction for the offshore oil and gas industry, is currently looking for a Welding/Material Fabrication Engineer for their operations in St. John's, Newfoundland.

This position will report to the Lead Structural, Design and Fabrication Engineer supporting the Subsea Construction and Pipeline and Umbilical disciplines.

Specific tasks could include:

• Advising on materials selection and application
• Establishing the requirements in respect of all welding, materials, fabrication, and NDT activities in accordance with the applicable Specifications, Codes and Standards
• Providing technical advice and support to Project and Tendering Managers in relation to welding, materials and fabrication issues
• Assistance in the preparation of tenders
• Developing materials procurement and application specifications
• The development and qualification of the welding testing and inspection procedures
• Specify requirements for the instruction and training of the welding personnel, welders, welding operators and NDT technicians
• Maintaining close liaison with the Customer's Technical Representative and Third Parties regarding welding, materials, fabrication and inspection activities

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer with relevant experience in any of the tasks listed above and eligibility for membership with PEGNL.
• Candidates will have experience in welding, materials selection and NDE methods.
• Experience with subsea pipeline welding is a definite asset.
• Good knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
