Office Assistant
Shared office with several companies in a downtown Halifax office currently has an opening for a skilled Office Assistant. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answering and routing all incoming telephone calls for several companies;
- Greeting office guests;
- Provide secretarial and administrative support;
- Maintain filing systems;
- Complete travel arrangements and process expense claims;
- Word processing; data entry; preparation of documents and presentations;
- Ordering supplies;
- Maintaining databases and managing news release distribution
- Sorting and distributing daily mail;
- Receiving and distributing faxes and courier deliveries;
- Other general administrative duties as required.
The qualified candidate should have:
- Strong administrative skills, including typing skills and knowledge of office telephone systems;
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office 2007 products, including PowerPoint. Internet and email required;
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and self-initiative;
- Experience in a related role;
- Bookkeeping considered an asset;
- Experience with website maintenance considered an asset.
