This is a bargaining unit position restricted to current civil service employees represented by Nova Scotia Government Employees Union. Duties:

The Program Administration Officer is responsible for assisting in: the development and design of an array of policies and supporting documents; the interpretation and incorporation of such policies into current and new program practices; the development of procedural manuals for program staff and related materials and manuals for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and one year related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful applicant is to be fluent in the body of literature related to early childhood development/early learning and child care; current knowledge of the organization and operation of child care facilities; including knowledge of the Day Care Act and Regulations. Essential to this position are: excellent interpersonal skills; competencies in writing policy; knowledge of and experience in policy design/development; effective communication skills (verbal and written); proven abilities in working independently; computer proficiency in Word/WordPerfect, Excel/QuattroPro, PowerPoint/Presentations.

Offer of employment is contingent upon the successful candidate passing appropriate background checks.

Classification Range: PR 6 - 10

Salary Range: $38,863 - $55,731
