Duties:
Under the broad supervision of the Regional Manager, this position provides a broad range of office management, and administrative support to the Regional Manager and District Managers. The incumbent plays a significant public leadership role which involves interaction with senior management, middle management and staff on confidential, sensitive and controversial issues, such as ministerial correspondence, financial and human resource issues. There is extensive assessing, prioritizing, routing and tracking of documents for use by Regional Manager and District Managers.
The incumbent plays an integral part on the day to day administration of the regional office dealing with technical reports, correspondence, financial, personnel and enforcement issues. This position is responsible to co-ordinate regional briefing notes, Ministerial briefing notes, ministerial orders, ministerial and senior management correspondence on behalf of the Regional Manager ensuring responses are delivered in a timely manner and consistent with Ministerial protocol.
The incumbent liaisons with financial and human resource personnel on behalf of regional staff and provides assistance to staff with policies and procedures associated with manual 500, and attendance management.
The position manages the SAP human resources program for the Central Regional office. The incumbent must be knowledgeable about record management, and retention schedule utilizing the STAR/STOR.
Qualifications:
Grade XII and a secretarial certificate or diploma from a recognized community college / Business School, or equivalent. Must have a minimum three years of experience following completion of their formalized training preferably within a government work environment and with senior management.
The incumbent must have good knowledge of WordPerfect, Microsoft Office, GroupWise, Internet and presentation packages.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with senior and middle management, and other government agencies, as well as the incumbent must to able to manage multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met.
Must demonstrate discretion, sound judgement, diplomacy and tact dealing with controversial, sensitive and confidential issues. Must be highly motivated and possess the ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Understanding of departmental programs would be an asset.

Salary Range: $33,999 - $38,040
