Requirements
The Role of the Senior Accountant
Due to the continued growth of our Halifax Central Business Unit, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Truro Assurance practice. Our assurance practice is large enough to provide complexity, yet small enough to allow you to quickly develop working relationships with your clients and with other members of our assurance team.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be an important part of a team responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience to an interesting and diverse group of customers.
Responsibilities
- Planning fieldwork assignments including budget and resource needs
- Supervision of junior accounting staff to ensure they understand their role on the engagement, and the needs of the client
- Ensuring staff get the feedback they need to improve performance on subsequent engagements
- Communicating with other members of the audit team to ensure client expectations are anticipated and managed in a timely manner
- Working with other office Service Lines to identify business opportunities and provide a full range of services to the client
Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the following experience:
- A CA designation (or equivalent)
- At least two years experience in audit and assurance within public practice
- Proven leadership ability
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong technical expertise in auditing and accounting
