Term Position: approx.15 months

Our client, a Nova Scotia based company involved in the distribution of natural gas in our province, is seeking a Controller to join their team in the Halifax office. Committed to the design, construction and implementation of their product this is an exciting and dynamic team that is leading the way into a more efficient future.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all of the accounting and finance functions: managing cash flows; cost accounting; preparation of the budget and business plan; management of the year end audit process and management of up to four direct reports.  You will be responsible for ensuring the company’s financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP. 

The ideal candidate for this position has obtained an undergraduate degree and a professional accounting designation or equivalent experience.  With at least 3 years of relevant experience you should have a strong understanding of financial statements and have demonstrated management abilities.  As a strong communicator, you are confident in interacting within all levels of an organization.
