Duties:

Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Institutions, the Insurance Licensing Clerk is responsible for multiple business processes relating to registration, mail processing, application adjudication/processing/investigation, data entry, records management and accounting/cash handling functions.  The Insurance Licensing Clerk will also be responsible for providing information services relating to the departmental registration processes in accordance with the Acts, Regulations and Policies administered by the department.  The Insurance Licensing Clerk will liaise regularly with client departments, other divisions within government, and people working in the insurance industry.

Qualifications:

Grade XI, plus four years experience in a customer service environment working effectively with the high volume transactions and multiple processes (Equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable).  The successful candidate must have: superior customer service orientation, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), teamwork attributes, strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.  Knowledge in the interpretation and administration of government programs, legislation and regulation, specifically those administered by Office of the Superintendent of Insurance and the ability to deal diplomatically with members of the insurance industry while providing quality customer service in a fast-paced changing environment are requirements of this position.  The successful candidate will have excellent keyboarding and superior data entry skills and must be proficient with PCs and software programs such as Word or WordPerfect, and GroupWise.  Knowledge and experience with Licence+ or Amanda software, REGIS and mainframe applications is a desirable asset.

This is a three days per week part time position for 6 months with an opportunity to extend the term to one year.

Salary Range: $33,999 - $38,040
