One of our clients in Dartmouth NS is seeking a Service Technician to field customer inquiries. This is a permanent role and the successful candidate must be fully bilingual – Spanish/English) see below for additional requirements.
Summary of Role:
Provide customers with technical direction and support. Respond to customer inquiries, and record inquiry information in the computer database system. Commissioning, training and field service as required. On-Call support as scheduled. This position involves travel throughout the world.
Core Responsibilities:
Respond to customer inquiries by telephone, fax and E-mail. Deal with customer problems as they arise. Diagnose cause(s) of transmitter malfunction. Make appropriate suggestions to return transmitter to operational status. Recommend preventative maintenance. Handle requests for replacing defective parts. Develop and prepare Upgrade Instructions and Information Sheets and Field Modifications, including creating electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Keys information into computer to compile failure statistics for quality review purposes and to keep accurate records of Customer Service requests and complaints. Log recurring complaints of equipment failure into the Problem Reporting database for investigation by the Engineering Department. Perform on-site commissioning, servicing and repair of Client’s equipment. Develop and conduct technical training courses for client’s customers, both on-site and at client’s site. Review customer contacts in ensure reported problems are resolved. Initiate orders for spare parts or emergency exchanges/replacements, as required.
Skills and Requirements:
Exceptional Communication skills, strong mathematical knowledge, Good reasoning ability and be able to work in a team environment
Education:
Technical school diploma or equivalent and the capacity to utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments.
