Duties:
The Senior Technical Architect (Computer Services Officer IV) is responsible for providing expert technical advice and support. The incumbent provides project management for networking systems within the Department of Community Services & Children’s Aid Societies. Responsibilities include developing project plans; the review and planning of networking strategies; providing training, guidance, and support to a skilled team of IT technical staff; support of existing and new technologies; optimization of computer network and PC/LAN based computer resources; formulating computer standards and guidelines; development and administration of the CSU’S computer security; research and evaluation of new technologies; performs the project lead role on significant infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and five years related experience OR a minimum of successful completion of a recognized Information Technology course plus a minimum of five years and six months related experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience). Related experience must include at least two years of project management / project leadership and change management experience. Proficiency in the technical environment with Network Operating Systems / System Management Systems and its related tools, are critical for this position. Novell CNA/CNE 6.x and MCSE certification, demonstrated experience in managing a Novell NetWare network using Console One, iManager and NWAdmin, advanced NDS design experience, NDPS design/support experience, Novell Clustering Services (NCS) experience, TSM experience, Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition experience, expert knowledge of network protocols and services, Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server and MicroSoft Active Directory, Novell ZenWorks for Desktops 6.5/7.0 and Novell ZenWorks for Servers 6.5/7.0 experience are required. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required as well as demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, peers, and management. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable to ever changing priorities; have demonstrated ability for motivating and managing diverse teams of both internal and external specialists. Experience in leading mission critical and large scale infrastructure systems in a 7 X 24 environment.

Classification Range: PR 17
Salary Range: $62,732 to 73,678
