Sarbanes Oxley Controller

Flagstone Reinsurance Limited ("Flagstone Re") is a global reinsurance company with offices in 12 countries around the world including our Canadian office in Halifax, Nova Scotia.   There is a requirement for a Sarbanes Oxley Controller to join our team of highly qualified and motivated professionals in the Halifax office.

Reporting to the Global Director of Internal Audit, the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Controller will be fully responsible for the SOX program including testing the design and operational effectiveness of business controls within the company to ensure compliance.  Working closely with colleagues, external consultants and regulators around the world, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships both internally and externally.  Strong business acumen and substantial knowledge of SOX compliance is essential as this individual will be accountable for identifying and ensuring that the business takes appropriate action to remedy control deficiencies.

The successful candidate will have completed a post secondary education coupled with a minimum of five years of related SOX management experience in a complex reinsurance business environment.  A professional accounting designation will be considered an asset.  Proven time management, problem solving and organization skills are required as is flexibility and openness for travel.
