Regional Community Worker
1 Position Available:
1 Full Time Permanent (37.5 hrs/week) – Grand Falls Region
The Canadian Mental Health Association, a nation-wide, voluntary organization, promotes the mental health of all and supports the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness. CMHA accomplishes this mission through advocacy, education, research and service.
Responsibilities:
- Promote awareness of mental health issues (group presentations, facilitate workshops, etc.)
- Recruit and develop volunteers
- Assist volunteers in identifying the mental health needs of their community and developing programs to meet those needs.
- Network with all relevant community groups and agencies
- Manage office, handle correspondences, and prepare reports
- Travel throughout region is necessary
- Work independently
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or Degree in the health related field
- Bilingualism is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and public speaking ability
- Self directed and resourceful
- Experience working with volunteers
- Knowledge and ability to use computers and related software applications such as Microsoft Office
- Car required
