Job Summary:
The Communications and Public Relations Department acts as a consultant to the Senior Management Team of RHA A and other internal stakeholders to ensure the communications function throughout the entire organization. The Communications Officer reports to the Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations and assists him in meeting departmental goals. The successful candidate will play a key role in the following areas: internal communications, special projects throughout RHA A facilities, media relations, health promotion, advertising campaigns, research and analysis, signage and postings, publishing and printing, public events, and crisis communications. This position requires travel outside the region. Other duties/roles may be added as needed.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate diploma in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing;
- Four years experience in the field of communications or public relations;
- Strong communication skills;
- Excellent writing/editing skills in both official languages;
- Ability to use computer-based tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and PDF for Microsoft Windows;
- Organizational skills and teamwork attributes;
- Good network of contacts, creativity, and interpersonal skills;
- Adherence to the management philosophy and core values of the organization (respect, collaboration and honesty), discretion and safeguarding of confidential information;
- Excellent attendance record;
- Good past work record and above-average performance appraisals.
