Extra-Mural Program – Bathurst Office
Job Summary:
The incumbent will provide rehabilitative services, within the scope of professional practice of speech-language pathology, to clients of the Extra-Mural Program in Bathurst. As part of the Community Rehabilitation Pool, he or she will work with children, adults, and seniors, in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing client needs and developing clinical intervention plans;
- Providing clinical speech-language pathology intervention, including treatment, education and consultation, in the client's home, school or other community settings;
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and other service providers to facilitate effective communication; and
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and contributing to the overall effort of an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Member of the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Therapists and Audiologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Therapists and Audiologists;
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology;
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain it;
- Knowledge of English is essential; however, knowledge of French would be an asset;
- Willingness and ability to travel to patients' homes and/or other community service settings;
- Ability to work in a continuously changing work environment;
- Valid class IV driver's license;
- Willingness to use own vehicle.
