Physiotherapist 1 (PT-1)

Extra-Mural Program – Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst

Job Summary:
The incumbent will provide rehabilitative services, within the scope of professional practice of physiotherapy, to clients of the Extra-Mural Program in Bathurst. As part of the Community Rehabilitation Pool, he or she may work with children, adults, and seniors, in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing client needs and developing clinical intervention plans;
• Providing clinical physiotherapy intervention, including treatment, education and consultation, in the client’s home, school or other community settings;
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and other service providers to facilitate effective communication; and
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and contributing to the overall effort of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Member of the College of Physiotherapists of New Brunswick and eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association;
• Valid CPR certification and willingness to maintain it in good standing;
• Willingness and ability to travel to patients’ homes and/or other community service settings;
• Ability to work in a continuously changing work environment;
• Current class IV driver’s licence;
• Bilingualism (English and French).
