Technical Writer – Industrial Plant Operations

We are currently seeking applications for the position of a Technical Writer from qualified individuals.  In this position you will be responsible for converting engineering and technical data on plant equipment and systems into operational manuals.

Duties:

• Writing technical manuals and procedures pertaining to plant operations, by gathering engineering design material, and converting to operations terms.
• Training staff on new or existing document control systems.
• Consulting on technical matters relating to their field of work expertise.
• Review of draft material and specifications from engineering and equipment vendors, and gathering of equipment information.
• Writing technical material supported by engineering data, and ensuring it is not in conflict with established safe practices.

Qualifications:

• Ability to proceed with little supervision to prepare documents.
• Minimal 2 years of post secondary training in a subject related field. (chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering)
• Ability to write technical documents pertaining to plant equipment and systems.
• 7-10 years of experience.
• Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
• Ability to adapt to change and be a good listener.
