The Role of the Director of Finance
The Nova Scotia Business Unit of Grant Thornton LLP is seeking a Director of Finance to join their provincial practice. Although offices are located throughout the province, this position is located in Halifax.
In this new position, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all finance, accounting, budgeting, and administrative functions, as well as a talented group of financial and administrative staff. You will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in your area of responsibility and develop and implement plans to realize on those opportunities. In addition you will be working collaboratively as a member of the Business Unit leadership team to develop and implement strategies for achieving the goals of the business unit.
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- 7 – 10 years of senior financial management experience in a professional services firm or similar organization;
- A professional designation in accounting or finance (CA, CMA, CGA);
- Excellent executive leadership skills;
- Sound business judgment;
- High energy and an ability to get things done in a partnership organizational structure;
- Exceptional strategic, analytical and people management skills.
