Reporting to the VP National Accounting Services the Manager RSC Control is responsible for managing the performance of employees in setting objectives, defining development programs through on-going coaching and feedback and conducting performance reviews. You will build and foster a positive and effective team environment and culture through strategic hiring and team design, frequent and proactive communication, motivation of employees, team-building and problem resolution. This position will require successful interaction with internal and external customers to develop, communicate and execute departmental strategic direction, goals and objectives. You will be accountable to enable effective and efficient processing of all transactions within function through the scheduling and organization of workflow. These processes include completeness and processing of commodity taxes (ensuring that information is compiled to meet filing deadlines and relevant data is provided as per provinical and federal laws) and inventory record completeness and transaction processing. This position will also be accountable for the approval, implementation and enforcement of efficient and effective best practice processes including root cause analysis and sustained resolution of all escalated issues. You will also be accountable to ensure that service level agreements with clients are met to develop internal controls and ensure corporate compliance with CEO/CFO certification programs.

Requirements:

Required:

  • University degree (accounting preferably)
  • Accounting designation (ie; CGA, CMA, CA)
  • Strong leadership, coaching, team building, conflict and risk management skills
  • Proven time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility coupled with strong change management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to transition quickly between upper management, external customers and staff
  • Strong analytical skills (specific to error trends or metric improvements)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software
  • Project Management skills

Preferred:

  • Ability to communicate successfully and effectively with Merchandising regarding nuances of deals negotiated
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Category Managers, Retail Support Centre's and government representatives
  • SAP knowledge (specific to processes within functional area)
  • Bilingualism (French & English)
