Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer/Director Professional Practice Development, and the Hospital Epidemiologist, the Infection Control Health Services Manager has responsibility for the development, implementation, coordination, and management of the Infection Control Program district wide.
The Infection Control Manager has direct responsibility for the Infection Control programs and Infection Control personnel for several institutions of the Capital District Health Authority.
Integral to the position is an expert level of knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfection/sterilization, infectious diseases, epidemiology, adult education, communication, and program administration. Essential components of the position also include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional development.

Qualifications:
*Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and registered (or eligible for registration) with CRNNS or Microbiology Technologist with a baccalaureate degree in science in public health and/or epidemiology
*Five years clinical experience in a regional or tertiary level facility
*Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required or within one year post hire
*Previous management experience required
*Demonstrated knowledge of infection control, prevention and planning
*Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate infection control programs
*Ability to coach and mentor staff
*Superior communication skills
*Demonstrated ability of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction, and decision making
*Proven analytical skills and research aptitude
*Demonstrated professional growth and leadership
*Highly skilled with the use of computers and programs (ie Microsoft Office Products).

Hours of Work:
* Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Salary: Health Services Manager - Level 5:
$34.7877 - 46.2225 hourly
