Accounting Assistant

Location: Dartmouth

We are a charitable organization dedicated to the well being of communities worldwide, seeking a Full-Time Accounting Assistant for our Dartmouth office.

Supervisor: Accounting Manager

Role of Accounting Assistant includes:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Invoicing
  • Post payments received
  • Prepare bank deposits and credit card & debit deposits
  • Track overdue accounts
  • Mail statements
  • Respond to customer inquiries

Accounts Payable:

  • Match po's & post invoices
  • Prepare cheque & EFT run on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
  • Respond to supplier inquiries

Other Related Duties:  

  • Assist in general accounting
  • Petty cash reconciliations
  • Assist in administration / registration at front desk
  • Incoming/outgoing mail
  • Filing
  • Other duties as required

Technical Skills:

  • MS Excel, MS Word & MS Outlook
  • Experience in MS Great Plains is an asset, but not required
