Accuracy Control Surveyor

Halifax Shipyard is a Division of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. which specializes in new ship construction, ship repair, ship conversion and vessel refits.  We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and self directed individual to assist our workforce growth and development initiative.

Responsibilities – Include but are not limited to:

• Lead accuracy control program in new construction and ship repair
• Integral member of production team, working primarily in a shop environment for timely delivery of products
• Proactive, daily interaction with tradesmen to monitor and control the accuracy of structural fabrication as well as equipment installation
• In Process and As Built survey reports
• Fast paced, Schedule driven environment
• ISO 9001

Requirements – Knowledge & Skills:

• Survey Instrumentation skills essential
• Offshore Structures Fabrication experience
• Shipbuilding experience considered an asset
• Working Knowledge with the following Programs is a requirement:
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS Access
  • MS Outlook
  • AutoCAD
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize workloads and multi-tasking to ensure deadlines are achieved
