Our client, a dynamic, rapidly growing private company, is seeking an Accountant for their corporate office in Halifax.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will perform general accounting for multiple entities within the organization. Primary responsibilities include:

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Financial reporting and analysis (including consolidation package)
• Month end working papers
• Period-end entries (depreciation, accruals, payroll, etc.)
• Additional special projects as required

You will work closely with all levels of staff throughout the organization to sustain and manage growth strategies and compliance requirements.  You will be required to analyze, research and understand the details, interpret results and provide support to senior management. 

As the ideal candidate, you have a university degree or college diploma, currently in the early stages or will soon be starting a professional accounting designation (CGA or CMA) and a minimum of two years progressive work experience in accounting. With excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, you are a driven professional with a keen interest in joining a strong team in an exciting, fast paced environment. Combining strong communication and interpersonal skills with an excellent work ethic, you are able to work both independently and as a team player and have the proven ability to learn new processes quickly.
