The Restigouche Health Authority is a multi-facility health care organization providing inpatient, outpatient and community based services in the Restigouche region of New Brunswick. The Health Authority is presently accepting applications for the following position:
Health Officers
(3 permanent full-time positions)
(1 permanent part-time position)
This is a support position that involves assisting the nurse with the care provided to patients. Must take part in the basic physical and psychiatric care of the patients in accordance with the standards and policies of the Forensic Unit. Must supervise, monitor, oversee the movements, activities, ensure the comfort and the security of patients, perform head counts and patrols within and outside the facility, perform security checks and searches of the units, physical facilities, patients, visitors and personal effects, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Qualifications Required:
- High School graduation or G.E.D. and successfully completed a New Brunswick Community College training course allowing the candidate to perform Correctional Technique functions or any acceptable combination of education, training and directly related experience;
- Ability to perform assigned duties with minimum supervision;
- Successfully complete the OMEGA (managing violent crisis) course or a commitment to undertake such course;
- CPR certification;
- Physically able to do the job;
- Good judgement and organizational skills;
- Good previous work and attendance record;
- Must meet the language requirements according to the Health Authority’s official languages policy.
