River Valley Health has immediate opportunities for casual registered nurses for the Family Practice Unit at the Oromocto Public Hospital in Oromocto.

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to patients and families on the Family Practice Unit.

 Qualifications: 

• Active registration with NANB
• Demonstrated ability to perform CPR according to BCLS standards
• Demonstrated ability to perform ACLS according to recognized standards or willing to achieve certification within one year
• Current certification or willing to achieve certification within 1 year in the following Delegated Medical Functions: 
• Defibrillation
• Initiating treatment for cardiac dysrhythmias
• Application and adjustment of the non-invasive temporary pacemaker
• Demonstrated skills working with medical/surgical patients in an acute care setting
• Demonstrated assessment skills and ability to function independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient care needs
• Demonstrated teaching, communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
• Demonstrated rehabilitation nursing skills (e.g. care of CVA and amputee patients)
• Demonstrated ability to safely transport adult patients
