River Valley Health has an immediate opportunity for a permanent full-time Registered Nurse with the Surgical Orthopedics unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

The Registered Nurse will provide quality care in accordance with the nursing process and with the philosophy, policies and objectives of the facility.  Through coordination, collaboration and leadership skills, the nurse will foster client education with the goals of health promotion and disease prevention.

Qualifications:

• Active registration with NANB
• Current BCLS certification
• Oral interaction, reading and writing skills in English and oral interaction in French as demonstrated by a level 2 certificate from the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour
• Demonstrated skills working with medical/surgical patients in an acute care setting
• Demonstrated assessment skills and ability to function independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient care needs
• Demonstrated ability to safely transfer adult patients
• Demonstrated teaching, communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
