The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is a private, national, non-profit organization that prides itself on its entrepreneurial, science-based, non-confrontational approach to achieving conservation success. Position Title: Philanthropy and Communications Coordinator
Term: 9-month Contract Position
Salary: Pro-rated, based on $30-35K per annum
Description: The Philanthropy and Communications Coordinator delivers activities to maximize general revenue for the Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC's) Atlantic Region. The incumbent leads and supports the Director, Major Gifts and Communications, Atlantic Region, in the recruitment, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Atlantic donors and fund raising volunteers, particularly with respect to special events and local mailings; plays a key role in implementing the Leaders in Conservation program – NCC's annual giving program – to increase revenues from individuals, foundations, and corporations, and works with and supports provincial Program Managers when LIC fundraising is taking place in their provinces; authors and distributes communications materials whose goal is to maximize general revenues for Atlantic.
Qualifications:
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent ability to create, organize and maintain effective and efficient record keeping systems
- Demonstrated successful experience in a philanthropy and/or communications role, such as proposal writing, media relations, and volunteer and event coordination
- Experience in a major campaign will be considered a definite asset
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare and manage timelines, goals and expectations wisely
- Ability to obtain pertinent information from a variety of sources
- Ability to support a decentralized delivery of organizational goals and objectives
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Raisers' Edge
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of The Nature Conservancy of Canada
- A valid New Brunswick License will be considered a definite asset
