Our client, a leading manufacturer of quality feeds in the aquaculture industry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchaser to join their team in St. Andrews, NB.

Reporting to the Plant and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating specific local materials and ingredients.  With a focus on supply line management for manufacturing feed, you will also be involved in the purchasing of global products.  Negotiating and managing all contracts for assigned commodities, you will manage our suppliers, cost, quality, and delivery performance.  Understanding, tracking and forecasting the key cost drivers for commodities, you will implement appropriate sourcing strategies to control the company’s purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply. 

The ideal candidate will have a business or technology management diploma with three to five years experience in purchasing roles and sound knowledge of commodities and negotiation.  A confident individual with plenty of drive and enthusiasm, you will possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills along with the ability to adapt to change.  You will be an effective communicator and have the ability to lead a team and motivate others.  A strong background in logistics is essential.  A CPP designation is considered an asset.
