Emergency – Bathurst

Job Summary:

The incumbent will provide primary health care services to patients in the Emergency Department at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. In addition to overseeing health promotion and disease prevention programs/services, the successful candidate will prescribe various rehabilitation programs, as well as diagnose and treat acute health care problems. He or she will manage chronic diseases and prescribe certain medication and treatments.

The incumbent will participate in the planning, organization, and assessment of nursing care services in accordance with the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the Emergency Department and the Nursing Office of the Chaleur Regional Hospital

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
• Completion of a nurse practitioner post-graduate program;
• Registration as a nurse practitioner with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick mandatory;
• Ability to communicate in English and French;
• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge; proof of good judgment and critical thinking skills of the nurse practitioner;
• Ability to set priorities and to deal with stressful situations;
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills;
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, members of the public, co-workers, Public Health officials, and medical staff;
