| Job Description |
The Finance Director (FD) will positively impact upon North American performance by proposing and implementing best practices and fully compliant financial processes to support the growth of the company. As a member of the US and Canadian Management teams, the FD will assist in strategy development and implementation. In addition, the FD will hold a position on the Global Finance Executive Team and take responsibility for implementing agreed upon finance initiatives and practices into the region as well as assist the wider CMN organization to share best practices developed in North America.
This role is located in Vancouver and reports directly to the President of the US Operations with a dotted line to the Canadian President of Operations and functionally to the Vice President, Finance (global). The role will require a reasonable amount of travel within the region.

| Responsibilities |
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting, Planning and Compliance: -Work with subsidiary and partner companies to ensure effective financial management, consistency of platform and financial process across the region. -Accountable for the analysis and reporting of financial data within the region including monthly results, forecasts, budgets, capital expenditure etc. -Develop and maintain an appropriate system of internal controls to protect corporate assets and satisfy external and internal audit requirements. -Work with internal audit to plan and review performance of local offices, including the maintenance of SOX compliance. -Ensure that global accounting policies and GAAP is applied within all operating subsidiaries and offices. -Act as primary interface to the Corporate Finance team on all financial management and reporting matters. -Act as primary interface with external auditors on matters relating to the audit in NA. -Oversee regulatory and compliance matters as they relate to finance in North America. -Drive the annual business planning process to ensure consistency with global objectives and local market opportunities. -Coordinate the regional budget process for the North American region. -Provide advice and solutions to the US and Canadian management teams and local offices on technical finance and accounting related issues. -Treasury management to ensure the efficient use of cash within the region.
Business Development: -Work with the company's corporate development team to perform corporate valuations, due diligence and integration in support of the Company growth strategy -Undertake analysis and make recommendations in support of new initiatives such as product introductions, market/office expansion, systems acquisition etc.
Change Management: -Develop and maintain a detailed ‘roadmap' of financial performance improvement opportunities within the region and drive the re-engineering process to deliver finance function effectiveness. -In partnership with the global finance function - design and implement an agreed upon finance systems architecture into North America. -Work with the US and Canadian management teams, and local MD's to identify operational improvement and business enhancement opportunities. -Determine how to link financial and operational data to provide greater insight into business operations. -Assist in the design and implementation of a risk assessment policy and monitoring process for the Company.

| Requirements |
Education: -CPA, CA -MBA is desirable
Competencies and Experience: -5+ years experience operating at a senior finance level in the capacity of Controller and /or Finance Director in a large service organization. -Exposure to M&A work (valuations, due diligence, integration) is highly desirable. -Exposure to cross border tax planning and management in North America. -Demonstrated leadership of geographically dispersed accounting and finance teams. -Previous exposure to business process reengineering - has to be a change champion. Always looking for ways to improve current operations. -Equally capable of providing strategic input and macro analysis as well as ‘deep diving' into the financial and operational detail. Needs a ‘sleeves rolled up' approach. -Ability to establish collaborative partnerships and influence results across the organization through an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and its link to business strategy and results. -First class written and oral presentation skills.
