Licensing Coordinator
Accountability:
This position will report to the Director, Purchasing & Fleet Operations. This position is responsible to ensure that the planning, organizing and coordination of all legal licensing requirements for Seaboard/Harmac (including GWR) and Tudhope for all jurisdictions are met.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring that all commercial licensing and IRP are up to date for tractors in all jurisdictions;
- Ensuring vehicle emission tests are completed as per regulations.
- Submission of M.O.E. generator reports on the descriptions, processes, quantities, primary chemical characteristic, and waste classifications on hazardous waste;
- Communicating with internal/external customers regarding the latest provincial and federal regulations through presentation, memos, email etc.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with Provincial and Federal Authorities;
- Updating licensing procedures and customizing licensing reports;
- Monitoring licensing, insurance and other registration fees on internal systems;
- Administration of disposals which includes collecting payments on vehicles sold through auctions or highest bidder process;
- Cancelling of licenses and ensuring refunds of registration/insurance fees are received;
- Maintaining related information databases with current and up to date information;
- Administering compliance as related to cross border standards and special permitting;
- Remain current on information and standards as related to commercial vehicle weights and regulations throughout North America.
- Ensuring that all vehicles are up to date and have proper insurance documents;
- Ensuring that all tractors have proper IFTA (fuel tax documentation) within the trucks.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- 3-5 years experience in the industry would be an asset.
- Minimum High School diploma, with preference given to related post secondary graduation or equivalent working experience.
- Exceptional computer skills for report writing and charting of results.
- Proven ability to deal productively with customers.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Strong organizational skills and record keeping.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Location
This position is based in the Dartmouth office.
