River Valley Health has an immediate opportunity for a permanent full-time Registered Nurse for the Medical Specialties Program at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to patients and families; participates as a member of the cardiac arrest team; and rotates between the Cardiac Care Unit and 3SW (Internal Medicine).

Qualifications:

• Active registration with NANB
• Current BCLS certification – C Level
• Oral interaction, reading and writing skills in English and oral interaction in French as demonstrated by a level 2+ certificate from the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour
• Current certification in the following Delegated Medical Acts:
  • Defibrillation
  • Initiating treatment of dysrhythmias
  • Removal of an arterial line
  • Application and adjustment of a non-invasive temporary pacemaker
    
    (If candidate is not currently certified in the above DMFs, they must successfully complete the CCU course and achieve certification in DMFs within six months of commencing position.)
• Demonstrated assessment skills and ability to function independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient care needs
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, teaching and team building skills
