Sir Wilfred Grenfell College

Sir Wilfred Grenfell College is a campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland in Corner Brook.  Approximately 190 students live in a traditional style residence and 210 in on-campus apartment-style housing. At Grenfell, we are committed to providing high quality facilities for residence students.  As well, we promote a sense of community and foster students’ personal and social development through residence life activities and programming, leadership opportunities, student employment, etc.  The Manager of Student Housing has overall responsibility for all aspects of Student Housing at Grenfell College and together with other Student Housing staff, is committed to making students experience at Grenfell positive ones.

Duties:

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Student Affairs, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the student housing operation at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College.  Duties include developing and managing the operating and capital budgets of the residence and chalets, including determining priorities and approving expenditures; administering  the Residence Life Fund; training and supervising housing staff; developing, administering and reviewing policies on student conduct and related areas, including disciplinary procedures; assisting students with individual concerns, intervening in crisis situations and referring students to other professional staff as appropriate; overseeing residence facilities, maintenance and capital renovation projects, including new residence development; marketing and promoting student housing to prospective students, parents and educators; managing the off-campus housing staff and program; liaising with Conference Services; participating in Student Affairs activities and initiatives and special college-wide projects, as required; and performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Considerable experience (3-5 years) in university housing operations, including supervisory experience; completion of master’s degree with major coursework in Student Services, Education, Business or Social Sciences; or any combination of experience and training.
