Landscape Nova Scotia Horticultural Trade Association (LNS) is a non-profit voluntary association comprised of businesses and individuals who earn their living from the landscape and horticultural industry.
Landscape Nova Scotia’s mission is to promote high standards in product quality, professional service and conduct in the landscape and horticultural industry. We have been a voice for the landscape and horticultural industry for more than 20 years in Nova Scotia.
Duties:
The Executive Director, reporting to the President, will work with the Board of Directors as an ex officio member, and with the LNS committees and commodity groups.
Qualification Requirements:
The Executive Director should have a Bachelors degree or equivalent, experience with associations, marketing, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills; also adaptability to change, e.g., president and board etc., strong organizational skills, ability to travel, and an objective outlook. Further, (s)he should show leadership ability and have some experience as a senior manager, with good administrative skills, including financial and human resources management, and strategic and operation planning skills. (S)he must have experience in working with a board of directors. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to communicate the organization’s vision effectively both within and on behalf of the organization.
Experience in the field of horticulture or a related discipline would be an asset. (s)he should have strong team and relationship building skills, with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the board of directors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
