Our client has a successful track record of delivering industry-leading technology and point-of-sale solutions to Canada and the U.S. for over 30 years, providing a complete range of technology solutions to government, small-midsize and enterprise businesses including Hardware / Software Procurement and Support, Hosting Services, Network Management, Network Security, and Managed Services.
As a member of the IT Team, your roles and responsibilities will include:
• Identify, troubleshoot, research, support and resolve customer IT issues. • Provide dedicated focus on client support and satisfaction; in person, via telephone and e-mail. • Manage systems, including servers, network infrastructure, desktop PCs, laptops, firewall appliances, and email. • Ensure all systems are appropriately documented and recoverable. • Work with sales team to secure, develop and implement new opportunities. • Consult with clients to identify business objectives, develop system requirements, and propose solutions that effectively meet business needs and strategic initiatives. • Identify and advise on business and technology trends that create opportunities for business improvement. • Provide full support for Microsoft products and the network environment. • Provide best effort support for all applications. • Other duties as assigned.
Core Competencies:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Three to five years experience in the following technologies, applications and hardware: • Managed IT Services - Preferably with Level Platforms - Managed Workplace. • Windows 2000/2003 Server • Exchange 2000/2003 • Active Directory • SQL Server • Oracle Databases • Anti-Spam/Anti-Virus Solutions • Network diagnostic tools • WatchGuard security solutions • Thorough understanding of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, firewalls, clustering, etc. • Working experience on Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry devices • Cisco Certification will be considered an asset.
Soft Skills:
• Demonstrated personal initiative and task ownership while working in teams and independently. • Must have excellent customer service skills in always putting the customer first. • Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and directed fashion. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to people in all levels of the organization. • Must posses exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve project issues and challenges. • Strong attention to detail and deadline orientated. • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate in a cross functional team-oriented environment. • Must be accustomed to working on various issues simultaneously and ensuring the integrity of each project. • Initiative to continuously improve upon existing skill set. • Friendly and outgoing personality.
Occasional overtime and scheduled on-call rotation are components of this position.
