Our client has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Controls Specialist in their operation in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is a long term contract position.

Senior Project Controls Specialist Responsibilities:

The following is a description of the different operations performed by a Senior Project Controls Specialist:

• Helps with the preparation of cost estimates relating to the project.
• Assists with the development of the work breakdown structure.
• Helps with the accumulation and compilation of accurate cost management data to prepare the project budget and helps with the update of the progress on the project.
• Implements well defined cost control/scheduling procedures for the project.
• Helps with organizing weekly project cost reviews / schedule meetings.
• Assists with the implementation of the change management system for engineering and construction.
• Assists with the development and maintenance of management, project and control level schedules.
• Helps identify trends and deviations and recommends corrective action to project management.
• Participates in the preparation of cost and schedule status reports.

The following qualifications / skill set are recommended:

• Qualifications: Bachelors degree with business and computer software courses, plus 10 years of relevant project controls, engineering or construction experience, or
• 16 years of relevant project controls, engineering or construction experience.
• In addition to the above, the ideal candidate must have leadership exposure.
• Should have had some hands on exposure to planning software (e.g. Primavera or MS Project), or should have had responsibility for monitoring, controlling and reporting project costs.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be a self starter.
