On Site Technician - Hardware Services

The On Site Technician - Hardware Services, reports to the Manager – Client Services with the responsibility of fulfilling work order requests. The position is responsible for problem determination, resolution, and follow-up where this client is concerned.  In addition, the On Site Technician is expected to be able to act (in a technical and customer service-related capacity) in both Deskside - Break/Fix and IMAC (Install/Move/Add/Change) environments for our client. MicroAge will arrange the appropriate cross-training in these capacities. The On Site Technician will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned by the Manager – Client Services. While technical skills are important to the On Site Technician role, a customer service focus is an essential part of this position.

Specific Requirements:

  • Network + certification; A+ certification; MCSA certification; IBM and Lenovo hardware-related certification as specified; Hewlett Packard (HP) printer/scanner certification as specified; Lexmark printer/scanner certification as specified.
  • Comfortable disassembling and reassembling desktops, laptops, and printers, scanners and other Information Technology-related equipment to be repaired.
  • Customer service focus - Incumbents must be technically oriented while maintaining the ability to positively interact with clients not as technically proficient as themselves.
  • Valid driver's license, motor vehicle and insurance

Systems and tools:

  • Clearview incident management application and manufacturers' web sites for training, parts look-up, and downloading (IBM/Lenovo; HP; Lexmark and others as specified.)
  • Comfortable using screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand-held tools used in the repair of IT-related equipment.
  • Must have the ability to physically lift equipment and boxes up to 25kg.
