Our client, located in Fredericton, is looking for a Manager of Marketing. Reporting to the Manager of Marketing & Sales and having 3 direct reports you will liaise with internal and external groups and departments to include: Management Team, department heads business groups, government contacts – political and departmental, customers, investors, energy service companies, contractors, manufacturers, standard setting bodies, government agencies, environmental groups and other utilities.
Primary Focus
- Management of Marketing Department, with key responsibility for strategic planning; development and implementation of strategic solutions to achieve corporate objectives, primarily pertaining to system expansion, revenue growth and profitability.
Accountabilities
- Management of market research resources to ensure development of research plans to support market planning, program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Development and implementation of key "go to market" strategies for identified market segments.
- Provides direction for the development of segment specific marketing programs that include: customer, market and competitive analysis; an assessment of company strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; strategies, objectives, resource requirements and expected results.
- Through departmental resources, preparation and presentation of market and performance related information for stakeholders. Develop and provide regulatory input and written evidence as required.
- Establish Long Range Plan forecasts of customer attachments and throughput, resource requirements and expected results. Develop annual budgets and estimates including customer and volume forecasts as input to corporate budget process. Prepare and manage Marketing budgets and forecasts.
- Directs the development and implementation of an integrated marketing communications plan, in support of marketing programs, corporate objectives and initiatives. A critical component of this plan is a comprehensive public/government/media/investor relations strategy.
- Ensures media relations plan is implemented effectively and represents the company as spokesperson when appropriate.
- Oversees the determination of appropriate delivery channels and delivery of programs through industry channels including energy service companies, contractors, manufacturers, standard setting bodies, government agencies, environmental groups and other utilities.
- Ensures results of marketing programs and initiatives are tracked, monitored and evaluated.
Skills & Qualifications
- Business and/or economics degree.
- Critical thinking; ability to identify and assess opportunities and alternative strategies.
- Strong management and leadership skills, required to direct and develop a professional marketing and communications team.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional image and approach to represent the Company in various public forums.
- A good understanding of energy end uses and the ability to apply this knowledge in the design and development of marketing initiatives.
- Related marketing or industry experience.
