Position Summary:
The Physiotherapist is accountable for the provision of Physiotherapy services to appropriate patients/residents/clients. The provision of services includes the assessment, treatment, and consultation/education related to assisting patient/resident/clients regain and/or maintain optimal levels of movement, activity and function by utilizing exercise, manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques. Included is the timely provision of services through efficient caseload and waitlist management as well as the provision of education to prevent/diminish the chronic phase of illness/disability. This position is subject to rotations in out patient services, both at All Saints Hospital and the Oxford Medical Clinic as well as the inpatient Restorative Care Unit.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy required.
- Current licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists required.
- Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association with active participation in professional activities preferred.
- Minimum two years related experience in direct patient care provision preferred.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively and effectively with others.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required.
- Strong commitment to service provision, self-learning and continuing education required.
- Valid driver’s license, a good driver's abstract and access to reliable transportation required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
