Extra-Mural Program - Bathurst
Job Summary:
The incumbent will provide rehabilitation services, within the scope of professional practice of speech language pathology, to clients of the Extra-Mural Program in Bathurst. As part of the Community Rehabilitation Pool, he or she will provide services to children, adults, and seniors, in a range of settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing client needs and developing clinical intervention plans;
- Providing clinical speech-language therapy intervention, including treatment, education and consultation, in the client's home, school or other community settings;
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and other service providers to facilitate effective communication; and
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and contributing to the overall efforts of an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology;
- Registered member of the New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists considered an asset;
- Valid CPR training or willingness to obtain certification;
- Knowledge of French essential; knowledge of English considered an asset;
- Ability and willingness to travel to patients’ homes and/or other community service settings;
- Ability to perform effectively a changing work environment;
- Willingness to use own vehicle;
- Class V driver’s permit, in good standing;
- Willingness to work in other Extra-Mural Program offices administered by the Acadie-Bathurst Health Authority.
