The Legal Services Division of the Department of Justice is considered the Law office of the Government of Nova Scotia, and as such is responsible for providing legal representation and advice to all Departments, Agencies, Boards and Commissions (excluding prosecutions). In order to effectively provide this service, we maintain a roster of lawyers with experience in many different areas of law that are interested in short-term casual employment assignments in Halifax that can be called upon relatively quickly. Casual opportunities are filled from the roster of pre-screened candidates. You may apply to have your name added to the roster at any time.
Duties:
If you are interested in a casual opportunity and have an interest/experience in legal matters such as administrative law, employment law, contracts, regulations, child protection and/or litigation and have some flexibility with accepting a short term assignment, please forward your resume as described below.
Qualifications:
You must be a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society (or eligible for practicing membership), possess excellent legal writing and research skills, have a thorough knowledge.
Classification Range: Solicitor I-III MCL - 15 - 26(2)
Salary Range: To be determined based on qualifications and experience
Closing Date: No closing date
