Position Summary:   The clinician in this position works as part of a multidisciplinary team in the provision, planning, development and evaluation of a full range of mental health services to individuals, groups and families. The clinician participates in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams within the Service and with outside agencies. This position provides case management and home and community-based support and intervention for adult and adolescent clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters level in Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Nursing or Masters in Psychology with education/training in mental health required.
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the appropriate legislative body required.
  • Experience with populations with severe and persistent mental illness required.
  • Training in psychosocial rehabilitation an asset but will be available otherwise.
  • Working clinical knowledge of psychotropic medications.
  • Clinical experience in assessment, consultation and provision of mental health services to individuals, families and groups required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work competently and cooperatively with clients and families and with community representatives, agencies and multi-disciplinary teams required.
  • Ability to provide community outreach and service to satellite clinics and areas required.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills required.
  • Ability and willingness to meet challenges and adapt to changing situations essential.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
