Application Development Manager
The Application Development Manager works closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, Project Leaders, and Business Analysts to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. They ensure that technical solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and are in compliance with architectural standards. They take any necessary action to ensure that the designing, coding, testing, implementation, and support of application software is carried out in a timely manner, is of high quality, and is delivered within budget.
This position will appeal to an IT professional with 5-7+ years of experience in the software development field with a minimum of 2 years of management experience along with a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Responsibilities include:
Coaching Team and Technical leads to success in team performance and satisfaction
Provides leadership, and management support for the application development teams by following system development lifecycle discipline within a structured project management methodology to deliver high quality results.
Prioritizes, schedules and coordinates with Project teams on all development related activities
Establish & maintain development strategies & standards on multiple hardware platforms.
Collaborates with application architect role in all design decisions.
Engages all stakeholders to resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
Resumes should include specific demonstration of the following skills:
Experience in software development on a number of platforms including Windows, AS/400 and UNIX.
A working knowledge of design practices, network elements, data management and .Net architecture
Microsoft MCSD or MCAD Certification a definite asset
Specific application of methodologies in SDLC including analyze, design, develop, test, deploy , maintain, and retire phases
Proficiency in object oriented development and programming
Familiarity with RPG, ASP,C# and VB.Net
Familiarity with Project Management methodology as it applies to SDLC.
