Under the supervision of the Production Support director, the Project Engineer is responsible for developing, organizing and controlling the preparation of all the project manufacturing information for his major client, the Production department.
He will constitute his design and drafting team based on the resources available at the shipyard. If required, he will seek for external resources to meet the project objectives.
Responsible for:
- Constituting, developing and leading of the direct Project Engineering dedicated team.
- Constituting, developing and leading of the matrix management project team composed of draftsmen, planners, material management resources, document control, etc.
- Developing the proper human resources and material plan and regularly validating the same.
- Developing and managing the engineering related contracts (design, modelling, Class, etc.).
- Acting as the prime engineering development resource for the specific contract Project Manager.
- Elaborating the manufacturing information development plan and the appropriate Project engineering strategy.
- Leading of the development and the completion of the design, the 3D model and the manufacturing information for his project. Acting as leader and prime resource for the technical interface within all Production Support department offices.
- Leading of the Project Engineering meetings and assisting to the Project Management department meeting.
- Elaborating and controlling a risk management plan for his engineering project course.
- Securing the Quality Assurance guidances as well as the company procedures and departments commitments and instituting and controlling the proper department Quality Control processes.
- Executing all other related assignment in line with the function responsibilities to his supervisor’s request.
Job Requirements:
- Related engineering or naval architecture diploma.
- 5 year of experience in a similar posting.
- Management and administration experience.
- Strong experience in technical writing.
- Strong experience in contractual work environment.
- Shipbuilding experience required.
- Experienced user of Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experienced user of AutoCad, Tribon, or similar drafting software.
- Strong capabilities in developing team work.
- English language mastery and French language knowledge recommendable.
- Sense of responsibility.
- Subject to regular business trips – Valid passport required.
