Our client, with a state-of-the-art facility in Prince Edward Island, is seeking a Quality Manager responsible for driving strategic quality initiatives while working directly with internal/external customers and suppliers. The Quality Manager has the responsibility to identify opportunities and provide leadership to make quality a competitive advantage for PEI and its customers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quality Management System is approved, understood and executed by associates in the R&O and OEM organization, with special emphasis on product and processes in accordance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) / European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations, AS9100, and/or customer and any other regulatory requirements as necessary.
- Manage the Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) systems and personnel to ensure compliance to regulatory, industry and/or Honeywell standards.
- Develops standardized best-practices across site, with emphasis on the implementation of standard work
- Responsible for developing and executing the Quality AOP and has direct responsibility for the departmental spend and managing budget.
- Accountable for implementing and proper execution of the internal and external audit program to measure the overall effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Manage all aspects of Quality Assurance (R&O and OEM) on-site as well as interface with manufacturing to ensure proper flow of information and data for continued through life product support
- Manage the quality assurance teams
- Review contractual documents to ensure compliance to customer requirements, TCCA / EASA and other regulatory requirements.
- Document work through work instructions and policy and procedures and ensure proper implementation of those requirements.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, R&O product lines and OEM manufacturing to resolve quality related issues and lead root cause/corrective actions to prevent recurrence through eCats.
- Identify and execute projects leading to standardization, simplifying and improving existing quality systems
- Utilize enablers such as their Operating Systems, lean/six sigma and Digitalworks, to identify best practices and drive continuous quality improvement throughout the organization
- Drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects
- Support and understand Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) program and philosophy
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree is required and minimum 5 years experience in technical field with emphasis in mechanical systems. Ten years of technical experience (with 5 years of progressive leadership experience) in a related aerospace environment will be considered.
- Greenbelt is required, Blackbelt preferred
- Knowledge of TCCA / EASA Regulations with special emphasis on Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMO’s) and OEM requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational, planning and program management skills with careful attention to detail.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities while working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate ideas with clear understanding of audience and gain commitments that are critical to the success of the organization
- Good computer skills with competency in using MSOffice suite and other software programs as necessary
- Good analytical skills
