River Valley Health has an immediate opportunity for a temporary full-time (October 2008 to July 2009) Physiotherapist with the Extra Mural Program North and at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville.

The incumbent will provide rehabilitative services, within the scope of professional practice of Physiotherapy, to clients of the Corporation's Extra Mural Program.  As part of the Community Rehabilitation Pool, he/she may work with children, adults, and/or seniors, in a variety of settings.  Extensive travel throughout the region is required.  Responsibilities include:

• Assessing client needs and developing clinical intervention plans
• Providing Physiotherapy intervention, including treatment, education and consultation, in the client's home, school or other community settings
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and other service providers to facilitate effective communication
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and contributing to the overall effort of an interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of New Brunswick and eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
• Minimum 2 years of clinical practice
• Current BCLS certification
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, interpersonal and team-building skills
• A requirement for the use of EMP fleet vehicles by the successful applicant is the possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license and proof of an excellent driving record
