Burke & Associates Inc, a division of Ian Martin Limited is seeking a Mining Foreman for our client in a rural Nova Scotia location.

The Mining Foreman will supervise and coordinate the employee activities in a crushed limestone/granite processing plant, asphalt plant, lime plant, rail delivery yard, concrete plant or an associated support operation of the company.

By determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and expediting workflow, the Mining Foreman will ensure effective operation of the company.  The ability to maintain good employee relationships and issue clear oral and written instructions will come from two-to-three years of supervisory experience.  Duties will need to be assigned on an ongoing basis and a minimum of two years industry experience will allow the Mining Foreman to confidently examine work for quality, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. 

Identifying employee training needs and following through with the appropriate coaching as well as participating in hiring, pay rate changes, discipline and termination of employees is also a large component of this position.  The successful candidate will bring a Bachelor's Engineering Degree (either in Mining or Civil) as well as strong communication skills to the Quarry.
